Stuttering mouse and audio on T60 when wireless is on

I have a problem with the wireless module of my T60 model number 2007FVG. T5600, 2gig, 7200 Travelstar hd, Bios version 2.00g (did not update it because i read posts about fan-noise problems), Atheros 11/a/b/g /n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express, SoundMax sound chip. WinXP-Professional

As soon i turn on the wireless my audio begins to stutter. If the wireless connection is bad then not only the audio stutters but the mouse will hang constantly making it almost impossible to do anything. Also the connection to the router is interrupted shortly once a while.

However, if i insert a pcmcia wireless card and turn off the internal wireless then everything works like it should. No stuttering, no stuck mouse, wireless working..

I got the machine second handed from a ebay business based in the in the UK (i.thinkpad) and it is in perfect state. I installed a 7200 Travelstar harddisk, installed Windows from the recovery disk, got rid of all the extra stuff except some Lenovo software (Powermanager, Shockdetection, Hotkey and Ultranav), optimised the system (startups, services, temp files etc.). The machine is virus, addware and spyware free and everything is working ok. All processes in the Task Manager are known processes. System Idle Process is 99, pagefile is about 300mb. It starts up in 40 seconds to desktop idle.

I have installed the latest wireless and SoundMax drivers from Lenovo but that did not help. In the Device Manager are no errors. Sfc /Scannow in the RUN box shows no system driver errors.

I found a post from someone with the same problem on a 3000 series:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthr ... 700&page=2 (second post, Supremus)

What can i try to stop the stuttering? It is really annoying to have a top machine like this and then have the wireless not working correctly. Should i send it in for repair? I have 2 years guarantee left but i do need the laptop for work so if possible i like to solve the problem myself. And reading the post above i am kind of afraid i will get the machine back without the problem being solved.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
