ProWireless 2200 - Getting wireless LED to work

#1 Post by Yaps » Sat Sep 29, 2007 10:46 am

Well.. This is my first post here so.. Hi everyone :)

I'm having a X31 notebook with the 1802-patch applied. The wireless card i'm using is a ProWireless 2200BG, just an OEM card in Intel box.

I've replaced the internal Cisco 350 with this card, but the wireless LED and FN-F5 button won't work. I've tried different drivers (the IBM ones) but that doesn't make any difference. Putting back the Cisco card makes the LED light again when linked to an AP.

I'm blank here, anyone can help me getting this to work? The notebook gives a nice Centrino sticker when booting, tho :D

It will only work with IBM/Lenovo OEM versions of the WiFi card, which have the code to control the LED in their firmware.

Cheers,

[censored]. The subsystem ID change (using hacked Linux drivers) will not work then? Those Lenovo-Intel cards are rather costly :(

Isn't there something like dumping the complete firmware from a IBM-2200 into a Intel-2200?
