Questions about IBM Active Protection System

Hi guys,
I was wondering, does IBM APS works on retail, out of the box HDD as well? Thanks in advance.

Yes.

APS is independent of hard disk drive, it's the integrated motion sensor that does the job in conjunction with the ThinkVantage Active Protection System software.
