Hello,

Not too long ago I remember reading about a software program/diagnostic utility that you can use to find out how many discharge/charge cycles a notebook battery has. I'm looking for the name or link for that program.

I think I saw this program mentioned in a review of an X6x or T6x but I can't find that original post and have had no luck trying to google this battery diagnostic software program.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? If not, then what is the easiest way to find out the discharge/charge cycles a battery have had? For instance, you buy a used battery and want to find out the cycles count.

Thanks so much.

If it is a Thinkpad battery, the Battery Maximiser will tell you the cycle count.

I tried a few utilities under various names, and none would provide as much info as the Battery Maximizer.

Keep in mind that not all batteries are "smart" enough to store info on cycle count, ect...

The ThinkPad Power Manager utility for those models (and T42/43) will display battery status information.

The ThinkPad Battery Maximiser and System Configuration utilities will often display battery status information on some earlier ThinkPad models.
