Power Manager not recognizing battery thresholds

I've read a pile of posts here concerning this topic of Power Manager ignoring the threshold settings that regulate the battery charging funcition. I can't tell if there are trends or if this issue is sporadic.

Here's what I found as of yesterday. The thresholds on our new R60e were being ignored and the battery would continue to charge up to 100%. I uninstalled and re-installed the Power Manager (PM) and one of the other drivers. I did this a couple of times and saw no change. This was PM version 1.19. I checked the R60e's various available drivers and saw that it still had PM version 1.13b (thank God for Software Installer!!) and re-installed that and everything appears to work as it should.

Our T43 has PM version 1.17 and the thresholds re-charge as requested...no issues at all with that machine.

So, is version 1.19 of PM buggy or is it something else.

How do I find out which version of power manager I have ?
My T60 intermittently charges the battery until it is 100% even though its set not to charge until its below 50% and to stop at 90%.

Do you have Software Installer installed on your machine? It's easy to view version levels there.

You can also open power manager and click once on the symbol top left, next to "power manager" and click on information.

Ive downloaded 1.17 from opendrivers.com but havent installed it yet as 1.19 does seem to recognize battery charge thresholds if plugged into the mains after Windows has started. Will monitor further to see if this is consistent.

Puzzled now because just plugged my T60 into the mains after Windows had started and the battery is charging even though the battery threshold is set so it doesn't charge until it drops to 50%.

Yesterday I left it plugged into the mains and when taken out of hibernation the battery didn't charge as required.

It would appear that I have to shutdown (not restart) then boot with the mains left plugged in and the battery wont charge.
Subsequent hibernations while left plugged in wont cause the battery to charge either.
If I am going to take my laptop anywhere or disconnect from the mains I need to shutdown and not hibernate and then connect to the mains (doesn't charge if connected to the mains before booting or after Windows has started).
