How to free hidden hard drive space in T61/vista

#1 Post by sws » Thu Nov 01, 2007 8:52 pm

I recently bought a T61/vista with 60GB hard drive. It came with about 15GB free space to use, but after several Rescue and Recovery (which is on by default), now I only have 1.36GB left! I haven't put any personal files in yet.

I read some related posts, but I didn't find the backup files in Rescue and Recovery. So I uninstalled R&R as suggested somewhere else, and it didn't free the space either. Also, I found that each restart eats up some space (about 100MB). Soon I will have a new computer with no personal files and no hard drive space left.

Please help!

"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thank you so much! Simply by performing "Clean Up" under "System restore and Shadow copies", I now have 45.3GB free!
