New System Update verson 3.10 clears up issue from previous

Has anyone else downloaded version 3.10 of System Update that came out two weeks ago?

I downloaded it and it cleared up an issue from the previous version, version 3.02 which came out early September, where after downloading an update that update would still show up as not having been downloaded.

I've used it on both a T42 and T43 and it worked great on both machines.

Great, good to see someone giving a positive response to Thinkvantage System Update and it came out two days ago, not weeks.

You can provide positive feedback directly to lenovo too:

Just updated to v3.10 from 3.02 with no issues.

The GUI now presents a static banner ad for Lenovo products and accessories, which can hardly be described as an "improvement" in its functionality.

Trying to install Thinkvantage Sys Update 3.1

I'm trying to install Thinkvantage System Update 3.10 (systemupdate310-2007-10-24.exe) on an A31 (XP Pro, SP2, current NT updates installed) and get the infamous "Installation wizard was interrupted" message as others have reported. But I *do* have .NET V2 installed, as validated by the Lenovo installation website. Even installed .NET 3.0 which made no difference. I don't see any other prereq's. Any thoughts on where to go from here?

Sorry I don't have anything to suggest about that problem, I believe some background services are conflicting with System Update, make sure you don't have tracks of System Installer on your machine. Use some good registry cleaner to wipe the tracks.

If System Update still doesn't work then manually update your drivers via driver matrices:

Drivers and software - ThinkPad A30, A30p, A31, A31p.
