on screen display for brightness? Vista and x61

#1 Post by nikemen » Mon Nov 12, 2007 9:49 pm

So, got a new X61 I am setting up, is there a way to turn on the on screen display, that shows the brightness setting? When I FN HOME END, it changes the display, but doesn't show anything on the screen?

Is that gone in VISTA? I have downloaded the updates which I THOUGHT corrected this, but it doesn't seem to work still

Four things make Fn keys and OSD successfully work and function properly on "Think" machines with Vista installed:

1. Lenovo System Interface driver.
2. ACPI Power Management.
3. Display driver. (from lenovo)
4. Hotekey utility.

Add Presentation director to the list too.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
