Rescue and Recovery media + clean install of OS

#1 Post by Marin85 » Fri Nov 16, 2007 10:35 pm

A few months ago I asked Lenovo to send me the rescue and recovery media (3 dvds). The set consists of 3 dvds: 1. initialize the recovery process, 2. to install the OS (in my case it was Vista though I used to have XP before but for some unknown reason they sent me dvds for Vista OS) and 3. to restore drivers and applications. So, my question is: Can I use 1. and 2. dvd to make a clean install of Vista on my ThinkPad (or at least something close to it) without inserting the drivers-and-apps-dvd?

Cheers

That's not possible, the process will not complete if you don't insert the CD's it demands.
