external USB keyboard with ultranav - first take

Got myself one of these recently to go with my docking station. The version with the numeric keypad.

It really does look like the photo. Amazingly thin and light.

The keys feel similar to my T60p, but seem to want slightly heavier pressure. Not as bouncy as on my T43.

The trackpoint mouse buttons took a bit of getting used to. They seem to want a lot more pressure. I sometimes "drop" objects I am dragging even though my thumb is on the button as I dragged.

By far the oddest and most disconcerting this is, the whole keyboard seem to be bowed diagonally. When placed on a flat desk top, the bottom right corner floats above the desk top by several millimetres. If I press down on that corner, the top right corner swings up. After a period of use, the rubber feet seek to stick to the desk top and hold the keyboard flat and table. If I shift the keyboard the bottom right corner pops up again.

Anyone have a similar experience? Maybe the unit is too lightweight?

I think you got what you paid for, that's a travel keyboard.

ThinkPad USB Keyboard - US English (comes with UltraNav) part number: 31P8950 is the one you should've ordered.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
