X60 hard drive enclosure

#1 Post by jjiyunlee » Thu Nov 22, 2007 1:52 pm

Hi,

I currently have an X60 hard drive that I would like to have access to from my X61. I bought a 2.5'' SATA external enclosure, but when I try to put the X60 hard drive into the enclosure, it doesn't fit because of 2 screws near the end of the drive (the opposite end of where you hold it when you're putting it in).

1. Is this normal? A I expected to actually unscrew something ON the hard drive?!?

2. Is this not normal and, really, I need to get a different enclosure?

Thank you very much for your help --

Happy Thanksgiving,
jjiyunlee

External drive enclosures are intended for bare drives. You will need to remove the Lenovo carrier, and its retaining screws, from the drive before fitting into an external enclosure.
