Intel CPU sSpec Number

#1 Post by ulrich.von.lich » Sun Nov 25, 2007 6:01 am

Some of them start with the letter Q and have only 4 letters (sometimes another 2 letters ES at the end), while most of Intel CPUs have SLxxx as their sSpec number.

For example:

Intel P4M 2.6Ghz sSpec# QVQ6 instead of SL6WZ
Intel PM 780 2.26Ghz sSpec# QAPH instead of SL7VB

There are not listed on Intel's website. Can they be used in thinkpads too? Thanks!

I also don't know anything about this issue :-( but while searching for "Intel QVQ6" the page Intel Mobile Pentium 4-M spec numbers --> Pre-production parts pops up - which seems to indicate that the "Q-models" might be, well, pre-production models.

If I were you, I might consider getting a qualified, fully tested production unit rather than a pre-production unit.. although the latter are probably more rare! :-)

Best regards,

Johan
