Which is the most reliable workstation ThinkPad

I have had an R series and two T4xP series, it seems that the T41,2,3 series all had loose GPU problems with the BGA chip.
The T43's run hot, and louder fans than earlier version

So I wonder which ThinkPad series is the most reliable?
Is it a T60, X60, 61?? I think they are all great, but both of my T4x have failed motherboards.

Or another way to look at it is what are the weaknesses in each model?

Main requirement for me is good portabilty and a graphics tool for CAD drawing.

I'd say that you can't go wrong with a T60p...workstation and portability are mutually exclusive in my book, though...at least to a degree.

If you were pleased with your T4xp machines, apart from GPU issues, I'm certain that you'll love T60p, and probably T61p as well. Screen size and processor will be the key aspects of your decision here.

Good luck.

Thanks AJKULA,

I understand that the spec of the T60/61p is excellent, but the question is, which Thinkpad models have issues with reliabilty and what are those issues, in each case.

For example: there is a common issue with the graphics chip on T40/1/2 models and posible T43.

Thanks for you input on the T60/1, i think they are great but are there any weaknesses to be aware of?

I suggest that you browse a bit through T6 series forum and see for yourself, but I'm personally not aware on any issues plaguing that series the way GPU problem affected T4x machines.

There is no such thing as a "perfect machine" but T6 machines seem to have improved reliability over their predecessors.

Good luck.
