Warranty Repairs in Raleigh?

My 4 month old T61 graphic's card went out this week (see: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=53900). When I bought my thinkpad, I got the 3 year depot thinkpad protection, but unfortunately didn't get the onsite. I called today, and it would be 219 to upgrade to 3 years onsite, which I don't want to do.

SO, I was wondering since I live in raleigh, if I could drop it off somewhere without having to mail it in for depot repairs (I've heard too many horror stories with the company lenovo outsources it to). I asked tech support, and he claimed the website was down on the weekend to look for the nearest repair center to my house, and I would have to call back on Monday to see.

Has anyone here dropped off their thinkpad for depot repair? How long did it take?

He's right the link is down. Try the 'americas' link at the below website on Monday.

Locate an authorized warranty service provider

I ended up taking it to FirstService in Raleigh on Monday, and got it back today (Thursday). I called a few of the local numbers from the authorized warranty service provider search I did -- several weren't for personal home/office repairs.

I am glad I didn't have to mail it in; however, they didn't seat the plastic above the keyboard properly as it catches sometimes when I open the LCD -- the left side is seated properly, but the right side is not. No biggie, I'll just reseat it myself.

Do other companies like dell/hp have local authorized repair centers? I really like the fact that I can drop it off locally!
