Rescue & Recovery: remote storage providers?

Hi everybody,
I was recently looking into optimizing my backup-strategies again. mozy was fine, until I realized that they delete a locally deleted file after 30 days in the backup as well. wtf?
since rescue & recovery offers both a primary & a secondary backup location, I was thinking about finally getting a "proper" off-site backup (except for carrying data to relatives).
now, anyone using a specific service (xdrive, godaddy, whatever) to do that, any horror stories, etc? officially, any ftp/webdav/mapped drive should work, right?
[edit] a combination of s3drive & amazon s3 web storage solutions seems like the most flexible & cheapest solution.
thanks,
wulfman
