Mouse "alternatives" (trackball?)

#1 Post by snessiram » Sat Dec 29, 2007 7:00 pm

I was wondering if any of you sometimes use mouse alternatives like a trackball (a trackpoint won't count  ) and if so if you would recommend it, advantages and disadvantages,...

I use a trackball with my T40, and also an optical mouse.

The trackball is connected to my dockingstation.

Why do you use both?

A trackball kind of attracts me because it seems to me that it's "static" on the desk. A mouse moves all the time, colliding to papers lying around etc..
But I'm not sure a trackball is as fast as a mouse.

I've used trackballs and like them, however, they take some practice and seem to be more stressful on my hand so they were abondoned. As for speed I didn't notice any problem there.

I've tried the trackballl, although not a fan so much. Right now with my tablet, I like using the pen to move the cursor.
