My friend recently bought a Thinkpad T61, and he wants to hook it up to his TV to watch movies. He has an older 36" analog set with analog composite and component inputs. I gave him an S-vid cable, only to realize that T61 apparently got rid of the S-vid port
so I found this product at monoprice, looks like it should work for him.
However, the description on the product states:

my question is: is changing the output from RGB to YPrPb something that most video cards are capable of doing? does this have anything to do with "color profile" settings on the video cards? This cable is primarily used for connecting video projectors with Component-in capability through it's VGA port. It can only function with a VGA port that is either able to recieve or transmit Component signals (Y, Pr, Pb).
