Determining the type of WWAN support

#1 Post by JonathanGennick » Fri Jan 04, 2008 1:20 pm

I'm thinking of buying a Thinkpad off of eBay. It's one of those sealed-box type deals. Specs claim the machine has WWAN support, but the seller doesn't know whether it is for AT&T or Verizon. The machine model number is given as 9440-2CU. I've looked up that model on Lenovo's site, and there's no indication there either as to the brand of WWAN support. Is there any way to determine for certain whether it's for Verizon or AT&T without opening the box?

It's almost certainly the Verizon WWAN, as shown on this overview page

But it's not 100%!

According to ltwbook it's Verizon.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Thanks Ryan! It helps to know that, especially as Verizon does not offer service where I live.
