desaturate flexview w/ ATI CCC?

#1 Post by allen » Sat Jan 05, 2008 3:42 am

as far as i've read, and experienced, my flexview ips lcd is over saturated. i've noticed it for the past year working on photos with my external CRT and flexview, both calibrated by a spyder2.

i'm not very familiar with ATI Catalyst Control Center, but i remember there being an option to desaturate the display. would anyone know how this might work out? i'm worried about confusing LUT's, since they're confusing to me.

let's say i just desaturate by eye comparing photos next to the CRT, which has been pretty accurate to how photos are printing. does CCC have to load that every startup? or might it just remember the settings? if i uninstalled CCC after setting the desaturation, it wouldn't remember right?

any help??
any photographers still here?
any suggestions?
anyone know an external 15 or 17" IPS for around $230? (the cost of a new 19"CRT)

thanks!
