SXGA is not 4:3, why?

#1 Post by Nicola » Fri Jan 11, 2008 9:23 pm

1440x1050 not 4:3
1400x1050 is 4:3

Why SXGA is 1440 and not 1400?

SXGA is 1280*1024 (and not 4:3).

SXGA+ is 1400*1050.

You may be thinking of the widescreen equivalent, WXGA+, which is 1440*900.

Incidentally, this is why I hate the abbreviations. Just use the pixel count, no ambiguity.
