Screen Expansion and Thinkpad Dock II

I've been using a T42p with ThinkPad Dock II (P/N 62P4547) and noticed a following: When I dock the computer screen expansion function changes to disabled. I can change it back to enabled either in BIOS or in Thinkpad Configuration program, but I have to do it every time after docking. If anybody has a solution it would be appreciated.
My brother has the same problem with his T30 so it seems that's not specific to my Thinkpad or my Dock.
I've searched the forum for a solution to this problem, but couldn't get one.
