I live in Italy. I have acquired a ThinkPad T42 in Germany and I sold it in a other country.
Now I have need of the disc of "preloaded OS" in English.
I have contacted IBM and it has given to me numbers of telephone of the some storees, nearest in my region.
A store has made me to wait for 3 months for null (they says that they do not succeed to contact IBM). ????????
Two telephones always are occupied day and night.
An other store works alone with the companies. When I have convinced them makes a pleasure me and the telephone operator has passed a responsible to me, he has said to me that the "preloaded OS" disc of do not deal them.
I do not know more what to make.

I must have this disc in order I make me to pay from the purchaser.
In passed I have sold more things to this person, for this I have sent the thinkpad before that he paid to me.

In the United States there are fast lines (fast internet) much, you could put the disc in site therefore after I download?
In positive case I will write the model type.

Ok, to paraphrase -

You bought a Thinkpad T42 in Germany and sold it to 'someone' outside of Germany. That person will not pay you until you give them Rescue and Recovery Discs for a T42. Your local resellers are jerking you around and you want to know if someone will upload the (7) or so CD's to a server so that you can download them . That is a LARGE favor to ask of a stranger no?

I'd recommend starting a thread in the Marketplace forum and asking for the R&R Cd set for a T42. Expect to pay $25 or more plus shipping to Italy.

IBM has said that if the notebook is in guarantee the disc is free; if it is outside guarantee I must pay 60 euro. I do not know if it is legal to make to pay which thing of which the right is had to have.
However I have dictate to IBM that I am disposed to pay and after it has given me the numbers of telephone of the storees.

This my demand is not a way in order to obtain which thing to payment in free way. But I do not succeed to obtain the disc because of the bureaucracy of IBM and the Italian ignorance.
Therefore I ask aid you.

I understood you the first time. For whatever the reason you are looking for a stranger to supply free discs. Good luck, and I hope that you find the stranger with the free discs.
