Glue for LCD/Screen bezel

I just replaced the LCD of my thinkpad. I noticed that when I removed the lcd bezel, that there is a some sort of glue used to bond and seal the bezel and the screen. I noticed this glue thingy mostly at the bottom part of the bezel and lcd.

Obviously it seems like it is just a temporary kind of glue probably just for sealing. Any idea what glue is this? Most importantly any advise what brand to buy and where?

I think that the adhesive is some type of double sided tape.

There has been some talk of this on the forum also. Not sure where though.

Hi Brad... thanks for the reply.. yup I think I found the topic you are referring to...

LCD replacement topic link

It is indeed a double sided tape. Does that mean I can use any brand of double sided tape (i.e. 3M) that I can buy from any store?

I am not sure which tape you can use.

When I reassemble I don't use anything and have not had any trouble at all.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks

double sided 3M tape works just fine ... your machine will be fine without it as well.
