How-to change the model number in the System update

#1 Post by fablog » Tue Jan 29, 2008 11:51 am

Hello,

I have a problem with my model version onf my thinkpad. The number changed and I don't know why and when. I can live with that if someone could tell me how to change manually the model number in System update to get the good updates and not let TSU check automatically the model number.

Thank you

Hi, you'll have to flash the EEPROM of the motherboard, which may sound scary but is actually not difficult at all, if you read the thread below carefully and follow the steps of RealBlackStuff. It takes about 10 minutes and you'll need a USB floppy drive.

Good luck!
