Updated R&R discs

Hi. If installed Rescue & recovery is updated to newer version and I make new recovery discs, are discs updated with it?
I use what you did not put in your poll. In the "once" in five years that I had to recover my T41 (hard drive failed - air bag disaster), I used the Recovery CD's (not R&R) that I got from IBM.
Other than that, I don't rebuild. I keep my machine clean on an ongoing basis, and fix the few problems that occur.
When I get my next TP, I will purchase Recovery CD's and test them before using the machine to make certain that they work. I have had Recovery CD's fail, and forum members here have had R&R CD's fail.
