New version of PC-Doctor...still crap

#1 Post by Tim M » Wed Feb 13, 2008 12:59 pm

There appears to be a new release of PC-Doctor available: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67520

Against my better judgement, I installed it on my T42. I then ran a system scan. The scan broke my network connections, to the extent that network access was also disabled when booting into the recovery partition.

I had absolutely no idea what PC-Doctor did; removing
Access Connections and attempting to connect with the Windows utility (either wired or wireless) did not work.

It being late at night, I ended up having to restore from a recent backup. I was not happy. Great job, Lenovo.

Note from Moderator: Many people read this list at work. Watch your language PARTICULARLY in subject lines. The transparent disguise was... transparent.

^ Not so much a "transparent disguise" as a British-ism, though I will be more careful to express my frustration with Lenovo less colorfully in the future. :)

mmm I installed it with no issues. Sorry to hear about your woes.
Rocking with a T400 for work, and a T60 at home
