Finding a repair place

#1 Post by thatcrazycommie » Mon Feb 18, 2008 4:59 pm

I just called Lenovo to report that my T60p (still under warranty)'s fan has suddenly started making an annoying buzzy rattling noise, and they then gave me a number to call to find an authorized repair place near me, who then gave me a different number, which led to some random thing that was clearly wrong. So, yeah, I just spent like twenty minutes navigating tree menus on the phone and got nowhere - is there any way to do this online? It seems like there should be, but I can't find one on Lenovo's website.

Just want to get my computer fixed, any help would be appreciated.

Is there a different warranty that you have that is not EZ Serve? They should offer to send your ThinkPad into their depot for repair. Normally they would send you an empty box. You fill the box with your ThinkPad in need of repair. Call DHL and there it goes. A day or two later here it comes, repaired.

I would call back and hopefully you speak to a normal representative who will do exactly what I just described.

That's normal, you need to call again and ask the support person that you would like to be sent a box instead of taking the machine to any IBM authorized repair center.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
