Will this ac adapter (fru 02K6670) work with my x40 without damaging anything what so ever?

says input: 100-240V ~1.0A-0.4A 50/60Hz
output 16V === 4.5A

I got it as an replacement as the original was faulty.
T60P 2613HP C2D T7400 2.16 GHZ - 14.1" TFT , 2GB ram, 60GB 5400, ATI M FIREGL V5250

Yes it will, no problems, it's the 72W version.
T61p 6460-67G; 15,4 WSXGA+ W7P x64, no hairdryer.
T43p 2668-G2G, 14,1 SXGA+, XP Pro, internal hairdryer
T23 2647-9LG, 14,1 SXGA+, XP Pro, no hairdryer
