Profile to switch off BT & turn of ultrabay to save powe

#1 Post by jang » Sun Feb 24, 2008 7:43 am

Is there a profile program that will allow doing both actions at the same time? And maybe include powering off modem, dim the brightness?

I often times go home without bringing the power adaptor, because it's bulky. And these are some of the things that we can do to save battery. Any ideas?

Can you just not make a custom profile under power settings to do what it is exactly you need?

You can turn off bluetooth, and parallel and serial ports in the bios. This is a nice advantage of the x60s over a dell which I have, which will only turn off bluetooth with wifi, not bluetooth only. Just disconnect from the ultrabase if you do not want your battery fueling it.

As much as possible, I want it to be done automatically. If it is controlled under location profile, whenever I reach a new destination, such as home, it will automatically switch power saving mode. I have this in my other laptop, sony vaio. I can't find the same function in thinkpads though.
