Passord Protected drive in USB enclosure
Has anyone tried using a password protected drive in a USB enclosure?
is there a brand of enclosure that recognises that IBM type of harddrive password?
The drive works in the laptop, T40, but i haven't found a USB enclosure that could use the drive
Thanks

From recent experience, I'll go ahead and say that even with the ultrabay adapter you will be in trouble with the HDD password in place - it wont boot.

If the hard drive is password protected you surely have to enter the pw when starting your T40, in which case you can delete the password set in bios as it is known to you.

I have the user password and I could use the thing is the machine, but I don't have the admin password that is needed to remove the password.
I could change it and all but just can't remove it. which is annoying anyways. I bought the machine used and the previous owner didn't know or remember the admin password. He just had the user password which I got and have been using for a few years now.
