Was wondering, if I take a HD with a windows install and place it in a HD enclosure, am I able to read and access all files/directories from it, including admin. restricted or user restricted files?

You have to "take ownership" of restricted files to read them. Which isn't difficult but it's buried deep in the properties menu.

ok this turns out to no longer be theoretical. I'm trying to recover data from my old TP. I've put the HD in an enclosure and I'm denied access to my documents for the administrator account. Could you detail a little more how this "take ownership" bit works?
Thanks.
