Lenovo USB Webcam - off topic

Sorry for the posting here, but maybe some can help.
Have a Lenovo USB Webcam part number 40Y8519 for my T61P.
Nice little cam, but run into a problem installing software - McAfee detects a Trojan and prevents install.

On install, file 'infected' is listed as C:\WINDOWS\Temp\Localized\ia64\killa9af.rra

(_is428.exe C:\WINDOWS\Temp\Localized\ia64\killa9af.rra Generic ProcKill.a (Trojan)

Obviously we can bypass/disable the on-access scan, and installer works fine, and no issues after a scan on installed directory or in any temp folders. But this is not something we can support for any users in our environment.

Any suggestions?

Probably a false-positive. Try Trend-Micro's online scanner (it's free) to scan that file as well and see what the results are. Some virus scanners have a very aggressive heuristics profile and thus report certain code as a possible virus/trojan.

Check the Hint and Tip on this page
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-66973

States: Trojan virus reported when installing the driver for the USB WebCam

For what it's worth, just took delivery of same item and found device worked better after installing files on above page instead of those on CD-ROM that came with device although still does not appear in Control Panel > Scanners and cameras.
