Battery question: Should I remove while T61 is docked?

Should I leave my battery in the Thinkpad while it's docked and hooked up to a power supply? I know this charges the battery too but I hardly ever take the T61 off of the docking bay. Does leaving it on damage the battery seeing as how it is being charged all the time?

The battery isn't being charged all the time!
On the standard Power Manager defaults for x6x models, it will not start charging until capacity has fallen to 96% and it will stop charging when capacity has reached 100%. When constantly used on a dock, this means it will occasionally charge for a short time.
You can alter the charge thresholds in Power Manager if you like. I run mine to start charging at 80% and stop charging at 96% as that suits my particular usage pattern.

Battery thresholds aside, I would be nervous without the battery simply because if a power cord comes unhooked you could lose whatever you're working on at the time. Just set the thresholds and leave it in.

is it better to set "custom" battery threshold settings or will the standard one work where you click on the box "optimize for battery lifespan"?
