NAS disk ftp server?

#1 Post by propellen » Sun Apr 06, 2008 10:41 am

Hi,

I'd like to access my files when i'm out travelling. So i'd like to set up a ftp server at home. I currently just own a T60 and i'm in the middle of purchasing either a NAS disk or build a server pc.

What are your thoughts on running a NAS disk ftp server? Any particular NAS product to recommend?

Best regards,
propellen

You should use SSH or SFTP instead of FTP. Highly recommend Linksys NSLU2 (and maybe NAS200) running Debian or Unslung GNU/Linux and (easy, cheap) software RAID.
