Intel 4965 AGN NIC in T60 200776U - White Listed?
Intel 4965 AGN NIC in T60 200776U - White Listed?
I've been through all the posts I thought might completely answer my questions/concerns but haven't got to the point of being comfortable changing my wireless NIC to an Intel 4965AGN adapter.
Here's what I've got:
New Linksys dual band 600N router.
Thinkpad T60 with Intel Wireless-G NIC
Two antennas
I want to use the Intel NIC because I think it would work better with the 600N router and might run cooler than the Atheros NIC.
I will buy the third antenna from Lenovo (FRU 42R9910).
I want to buy the Intel 4965AGN card from Amazon but I don't know if I'll get hung up by the T60 BIOS.
There is something called the White List but I can't find it to see if the Intel card in on it and if it is, does that mean that there is a special version that Lenovo sells that avoids the BIOS problem?
Any advice/Info will be greatly appreciated.

buying the 4965 from Amazon will definitely not work without hacking the system. Then again any 4965 will require you to hack it to get it to work with a T60. The Atheros ABGN card will work just fine though.
Since you are set on the Intel card then just get the Lenovo one and use Zender's BIOS mod to get it to work. If you have to get the generic one, i think you gotta tape up pin 20 anduse the hacked bios to get it to work.
(AC and FN+F5 might not work also)

So far as I can tell, Lenovo have withdrawn all Wireless-N adapters. Frankly, I don't care whether I use an Intel or a Atheros card so long as it's approved by Lenovo.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check them out. One thing that concerns me is that Lenovo withdrew the Atheros card for some reason and I'm wondering if it interferes with the Bluetooth radio.
In fact, Lenovo have withdrawn all wireless-N adapter FRU's for some reason.
I do have one other option and that is to buy a new Intel 4965AGN card and hack the BIOS to get it to work. Another option is to buy the Linksys WEC600N dual band Express card which is designed to work with my 600N router.
Anyway, thanks again. I will certainly follow up on your Info.

The first card is the Intel 4965AGN which is currently going for about $37 on Amazon. The question is whether or not the Lenovo one will work in my T60 w/o a BIOS hack.SHoTTa35 wrote:well you can buy them here on this site you know:
