#1 Post by andyP » Thu Apr 17, 2008 1:23 pm

FYI Released today;
Lenovo has released a new system BIOS update to address an issue with the Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset (as reported in the Intel 965 Express Chipset Specification Update). Lenovo is providing this BIOS update to eliminate a potential source of unexpected system behavior or memory error within the Lenovo notebook products below. In order to ensure the long term reliability of your Lenovo notebook computer, it is highly recommended that all users update their system with this new BIOS.
At the bottom of the page is also the following;
Customers who use Active Management Technology (AMT) on their Lenovo notebook computer also need to update to the latest level of Management Engine Firmware (Intel AMT 2.6):

I downloaded the BIOS update in the link for my X61T but the updater states that the version I have is identical to the one downloaded. Are you sure it was released today?

I recall last updating the BIOS via System Update a few weeks ago...

Edit: Ah, oops, answered my own question there -- the release notes say it was released 3/19/08.

Probably the Tablet BIOS update occurred before the roll-out for some other model types.
Current: T430
Past: T42 | T60 | T61 | X61T | T410
