desktop setup. Are the following compatible with t series thinkpads. where can i get a good deal on buying these items.

I wanted to know if anyone has used apple keyboard to connect to thinkpad. I prefer to work on a desktop so I am going to get a regular keyboard to type when not on the road. Also, is their a keyboard you can reccomend instead of apple's?

Same for mouse?

I need to get a headset so I can participate in online classes. I have no idea what to get or what the differences are between headset jack or usb audio. I looked at logitech and MS products. Does anyone how any experience with these.

I am also looking for a monitor to connect to at home. It has to be affordable and a good display at least 19inches. Any recommendations for a good desktop thinkpad setup. Something that would be a good buy.

as for multifunction printer. I am looking at the canon pixma mx700 . Although i really just need a scanner with ocr to scan and edit docs, charts and graphs without bad quality results.

Apple keyboards are in general compatible with any PC including your Thinkpad, although they have a slightly different key layout than the typical pc, so some keys will be different, or behave differently. That said, I am currently using an Apple wireless bluetooth keyboard with my Thinkpad, and am quite happy with it. After trying to remap some of the keys myself, I came across a program that had sensible remapping already done for me from http://www.kudzuworld.com/blogs/tech/20080101.en.aspx

As far as headsets go, a plain 1/8" jack model is certainly the easiest to use, as it requires no drivers and no setup. Alternatively, if you have (or would like to have) a bluetooth headset for your cell phone, you can also use this on your thinkpad.

As far as a monitor goes, I'd recommend the Dell 2007wfp which is a 20" model that has an excellent (usually) IPS panel, and is generally available for $300 refurbished from the Dell outlet, or for $400 new. Otherwise I tend to buy Samsung panels, which, while they lately tend to have rather poor colors and viewing angles, they are bright and very pleasant for text and general office work.

You might also consider purchasing a dock, which allows you to have everything neatly plugged in allows you to quickly undock when you need to leave your desk.
