Second hard drive not shown in Windows

I got a second hard drive (Samsung) with an adapter. The drive correctly shows up in the Bios and in the Device Manager, but not under "Computer" in Vista.
What could the problem be?

it might not be initialized or formatted.   open disk management (start > run > type "diskmgmt.msc" and click ok) and see if it shows up.   you'll be able to initialize and/or format from there.
