I am thinking of buying a bt mouse? Which one will be better, thinkpad latest one or microsoft 5000 or 8000? Many thanks.

I use a Logitech bluetooth mouse. My wife use a Bluetake one. Both of these work well and aren't too bulky. A brand new Bluetake mouse cost me under £20 (approximately $US40) from a well-known online auction site. The Logitech one was more expensive but that was about 2 years ago and I suspect that prices have dropped in that time.

i have the new thinkpad BT mouse and like it a lot. it's been used for two months straight and it still has 62% battery left on standard alkaline AA batteries. lithium batteries might be even better.

the response of this mouse is excellent and it doesn't have any perceptible lag during use. it has a precision feature that can slow the pointer speed by holding the shift key. the wheel can act like a third mouse button and its function is programmable.

I use a bluetooth Logitech MX5000 mouse I purchased from a fellow forum member. Its one of the best mice I've used. So smooth...

I have two; a Logitech V270, and a Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000. Both connect via Bluetooth.

The Presenter mouse is a little too small to be used for extended periods, the mouse buttons are a bit vague in their feel (they tend not to 'click'), and the non-ratcheting mouse wheel drives me crazy. It has a lot of neat features if you're also after a remote control for presentations, though.

The V270 is a very simple mouse, 3 buttons and a scroll wheel. No special buttons or features, but does exactly what you would expect it to do. It's the one I use if I need a mouse for actual mousing as part of work.

Another vote for Logitech V270. It's simple and it always works.

Many thanks for that guys. May I ask erik do you find it too small if you hold it for the whole day or any uncomfortable feelings? Would appreciate it if there is any comparison between Microsoft 5000 and it? Which one is bigger and smoother?

Google around you'll find someone who sells a BT mouse that folds flat into a PC Card size, and ... you guessed it ... slips into a PC Card slot to charge. Yes, charge. Got a great review at one of the many "gadget" web sites.

I want one, but have so many mousies (as well as a Wacom BT tablet), that it's not high on my to-do list.

i can use it all day with my X300. it's small but not too small. it's my first bluetooth mouse and after having used it for about 2 months i'm glad i bought it. i'm actually considering getting a USB bluetooth adapter to use it with my thinkstation when it arrives.

BTW, I'm not happy with my non-BT MS notebook mouse ... they shrunk the thumbwheel (why do they call it that?) to a degree that just a slight milllimeter movement scrolls 3 pages. And the latest models don't have any "detents" on the wheel so it freely turns ("smooth scrolling," they call IIRC) without a way to gauge how far you're turning it. I DO NOT like that. I hardly use my Laser Notebook 6000. YMMV

Use the MS BT 5000 here... Preferred MS over Logitech since the former usually seems to fit my hand better... The Lenovo wasn't available then when I got the 5000... BTW the Lenovo is probably more heavy (?) cause it uses 2 x AA-size battery instead of 2 x AAA-size for the 5000...? And I use low-discharge NiMH battery...
