Connections with wifi and LAN (ethernet cable)

#1 Post by ninjaronin18 » Tue May 20, 2008 12:10 am

Okay, let me try to explain my situation.

I recently purchased a t61p. Also, someone gave me their a20p with no wifi. I want to use the internet using shared internet connections with the a20p using my t61p which has wifi. Can this be done? Here is my setup:

Desktop is upstairs with router (hooked to wall).

My room is downstairs where my t61p can still get connection.

I hooked up my t61p to a router (which i use as an ethernet hub) and my a20p to the router/ethernet hub.

My problem is that my t61p can't connect to wifi (even though it says it's connected but no packets are being sent or received) when i enable the local area connection.

I know I can look this up somewhere else on the internet, but forum.thinkpads.com is my best source of info. Can anyone help?
