Strange message from Rescue and Recovery

#1 Post by xtrem » Tue Jun 03, 2008 8:37 am

I'm selling my T43p so I want to restore it to factory defaults.
I have no discs, only the hidden partion on the HDD.
I press F11 during boot and get Rescue and Recovery starts up. I only get the option to restore to factory settings.
But when it start I get this message:

"Product Recovery could not find file X:\Preboot\Utils\Convert.cmd"

Yes, "X" not D or C.
The hidden partion D is named "SERVICE001" and is 4.02GB.

Why is Recovery looking for "X:"??

I don't use or know about Rescue and Recovery, but X: is the ram drive created by the Recovery CD when it starts. I don't know why that should even come up if R&R is working properly. ... JDH

I'm not starting from CD but only using "Acess IBM" and F11.
