Impossible to create the recovery media...nothing happens!

#1 Post by TommyBoy » Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a very annoying problem: when I try to create recovery media by double clicking on the RRMedia.exe (which is pointed by Start --> Programs --> Thinkvantage --> Create recovery media), nothing happens. Just nothing...
I was able to create the single rescued and recovery cd though. But I will need those cds if my hard drive breaks and I really don't know how to do that.

I really need help, thanks a lot.

Call IBM and tell them what you're going through, they should be able to send you a set free of charge as long as your thinkpad is under warranty.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Just wondering if you do have a Rescue partition on your HD.
If not, you can start that program till the cows come home...

Well I should have one, since I did a factory reinstallation from the HD without using any CD a few weeks ago...
