Access Connections Experts - Question...

#1 Post by kc7gr » Tue Jul 22, 2008 10:39 am

Fellow techies,

Now that I've gotten used to Access Connections, I've found I like it. However, I'm no expert with it by any means.

With that in mind -- I've noticed that, every time the laptop (a T61) finishes booting, A-C will automatically try to re-associate with the last access point it connected with.

I find this behavior annoying to say the least. Is there a way to disable this auto-reconnection attempt? I would much prefer that it wait for me to tell it what to connect up with.

Thanks.

Top Menu -> Configure -> Location Switching and uncheck the ones you don't want tried. I uncheck everything except for default wired, and my home wireless. All others don't get tried. ... JDH

Ditto. Just came in to type this and JDH had this already ... I usually switch off wireless radio via Fn-F5 before I turn off my laptop, I have had AC hang on me quite a few times trying to associate to my home wifi before windows fully boots.
