You can only run one instance of System Update at a time ...

This is the message I get when I try to open System Update. What is wrong what did I do? And how do I fix this?

Just a guess, you may have it scheduled to run automatically and perhaps you tried to start it yourself while it was already running in the background?

You could turn of the schedule feature.

If you try again and have problems, you could always uninstall and reinstall.

I've been occasionally and randomly been surprised by this error
message as well. But then when I expand my task bar I see a
System Update icon there.
