I am not 100% positive, but would have guessed that MC8775 diver from lenovo includes support for MC8780.

Give it a try.

Take a look at this link: MC8780 / Aircard 880U GPS from Oz forum whirlpool.net. - There are links in the forum posts to the Fujitsu Siemens Sierra Wireless 3g Watcher software (v3.0.0.9 Build 1822) which includes drivers for this module.

The MC8780 is the Mini PCI-E card that is incorporated in the Sierra 880U USB device.

The 880U device drivers and connection manager on the Sierra web site should work with the MC8780.

Cheers,

Bill

While I would certainly give the Sierra Wireless drivers and Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher a shot first, if that doesn't work, you can get the drivers from Lenovo.

Wireless WAN (Vodafone and Cingular - HSDPA) driver for Windows Vista, XP, 2000 - ThinkPad T61, T61p, X61, X61s, X61 Tablet, X300, ThinkPad Reserve Edition

That is a driver for a Sierra MC 8775 card, which isn't the same as the MC 8780.

The Sierra 875U drivers don't work with an 880U, so I wouldn't expect that the Lenovo MC 8775 driver will work with an MC 8780 card.

Cheers,

I stand corrected. Should have checked the readme file for specific embedded modules supported.

Actually, I've used the above stock Lenovo drivers on my MC8780. The driver version is a little old, but it does work with MC8780.
