New Problem With T43

#1 Post by kduniverse » Thu Aug 14, 2008 3:32 pm

Recently, I notice on battery power the screen is a pinkish color. Also, when the screensaver come on, the screen dims, and if left for a while, turns red when the the desktop comes back. I was doing a search here, and found some info, but I'm not very knowledgeable as most here.

The backlight (official name CCFL) of your LCD is dying.
Look in the Marketplace forum for user Jamiphar, who replaces those.

Also, I've been reading on here that it may be the actual lcd. How do I know if it is or not? My issues are only sometimes. If plugged in, the pink goes away. Battery power, and i'm pinkish

Actual LCD goes white or black, not pink when it dies.

Pink colour means nothing BUT backlight failure.

May I strongly suggest that you send the machine to James (jamiphar) for a repair instead of attempting it yourself...I've replaced backlights in the past, and I still send my machines to him...

CCFLdirect.com lists laptops and their corresponding tube. It doesn't appear to list the T43, but it does have a guide for measuring your screen to determine the correct tube. You could probably send them an email asking, they may just not have updated the list recently.
