Real easy question about creating recovery media

#1 Post by agarza » Tue Aug 19, 2008 11:19 pm

I'm fairly new in Creating Rescue Disks for Thinkpads, but real quick:

How many disks does it take Rescue & Recovery if I set them to burn them on DVD media?
Does the first created disk take the whole 4.3GB of disk space, or is that the first disk is used only to boot the machine and then the 2nd burned disk have the image of all the recovering process??

How does the software knows if you want to burn in either CD or DVD media? Is this determined by the kind of media you insert in first instance (CD vs DVD)?

If the service partition I roughly would expect R&R to make 2 DVD's only I suppose.

Any lights on this

i believe it takes one cd (for the bootable r&r disk) and then one dvd for everything needed to recover the system. at least that's how it is on my t43.
