mouse pointer moves while scrolling with trackpoint
This is the 2nd time this has happened. Normally, when scrolling with the trackpoint by holding the center button, the mouse pointer locks in place, and the page moves. Last week, somehow the mouse pointer no longer locks in place, and moves at the same time the page scrolls! I've tried changing the trackpoint settings, but nothing locks the pointer, and only way to get it back the way it was, was to reinstall the trackpoint driver software.
Today, it happened again. I searched, but didn't come up with any results relating to this.
Any ideas?

I gave that a try, doesn't seem to have an effect. It was already set on Standard.
One more thing, this only happened after I set the touchpad to scrolling only(instead of functioning as a 2nd pointing device)
Re-enabling the touchpad to function as a pointing device didn't make any difference

so I decided to leave the driver alone, and try to ignore it, and found that it randomly goes back to normal scrolling. Basically, now the problem comes and goes, I can't seem to find a pattern, whether or not it's something I'm running

I remember updating my pointing stick's driver and having this problem, which I hated a lot. It used to show me a search with upward and downward pointing arrows and the pointer would move to either edge of the screen. What the hell is that?
I rolled back to the previous driver, which I had absolutely no problems with, and the problem went away.

That is "Smooth scrolling".msafi wrote:It used to show me a search with upward and downward pointing arrows and the pointer would move to either edge of the screen. What the hell is that?
With the UltraNav Wizard you can modify the center button scrolling Advanced properties and choose between Standard, Smooth, or Auto-select. You can choose the same options from the UltraNav tab in Mouse of Windows Control Panel.
