Add MiniPCI Ethernet to i 1200?

#1 Post by webnetwiz » Fri Jan 07, 2005 11:59 am

I got this i 1200 series ThinkPad (machine-type 1161-250), and it's a very nice machine, upgraded the hard drive, installed Win2k, etc. Noticed that it had the RJ-45 port covered, so I opened it up and saw that it has a MiniPCI slot, and has the miniPCI modem, although that's plugged into a proprietary-style mini connector right on the motherboard. Now the modem card has a 2 wire cable running to the jack in the back of the laptop, but I don't see any cable for the optional Ethernet card even present. Did some research, found that there's a part number 12P3062 for this model that adds tha MiniPCI Ethernet card, but I need to find out if that part comes with that cable to go from the module to the jack, or do I have to look elsewhere for it. Sorry for the long post.
