OCZ SSD Core Series V2 any experience?

As I couldn´t find any substantial test reviews on the OCZ Core Series V2, I decided to ask my Thinkpad fellows AFAIK, the first OCZ core series weren´t very successful, but there seems to have been some improvement since then. So, if someone has any close experience with the new V2 series or can provide some useful information on it, I´d be very happy if he or she can share it here

I have a 120gb ocz series 2 on my w500. It works find nice and fast but there is still the lag issue occasionally when it freezes up especially when doing large amounts of disc activity such as decompressing files.

I plan to put the stock 200gb drive it came with in the sata bay option bay.

Thanks for your response. These freezes were exactly what I was afraid of. But since the same freezes seem to sometimes happen with the Intel X25-M drives and probably there is this limitation of 1.5 Gb/s, the OCZ seems to be a cheaper alternative to the Intel drive
Anyway, I have just ordered a Seagate 7200.3 Momentus 320 GB because I need the extra space

I have too a Momentus 7200.3 320 GB SATA 3GB/s! Or too be precise, I had!! Unfortunately it failed just after 2 weeks!! I was so disappointed at Seagate, all my Seagate hard drives are working fine even after 5-6 years.. Good thing I keep a backup on my FreeAgent Pro drive! Even though I got the G-Force version there were bad blocks only 15 days after i bought it. Now it's being serviced and I'm without a HDD for 4 weeks.
Also I regreted buying it in the first place, because it's really, really noisy! The disk spins reaally loud and the read/write sounds can be compared with a game of marbles! Another issue is the vibrations - i don't know if this is because of my hdd caddy, but it feels really disbalanced.
So I hope you get a good copy, but if the noise and vibrations could be a problem for you, I suggest you don't open it and simply return it.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Seagate drive! I´m getting the impression that more and more people have problems with the Momentus 7200.3... Let´s see how it goes with me. BTW, I´m by now not really impressed with it´s real-life performance. Undoubtedly, it has the best characteristics among 320 GB drives out there (according to HD Tune and HDTach), but my machine boots slower than with my previous Hitachi 7K200 (which is a really excellent drive so far and I´m still using it for backups etc). Application launch is maybe slightly faster and of course general transfer rates are higher when copying different things. Also, it´s quite noisy indeed, but that´s still nothing compared to when I put the 7K200 in the ultrabay. I guess both of them then come in some kind of resonance and this is loud as it gets, even though the 7K200 is very comfortable by itself. (I now realize what a nice drive the 7K200 is!)
